Emotional Weekend

This weekend was an emotional roller coaster to say the least. Saturday was by far the worst! Lizzy went to Petsmart and got a new home. At the time I was really happy for her but now I find myself worrying about them and how she is being treated. Is she fitting in with their lifestyle? I guess I just have to just keep believing they will let us know if she isn't, which I am sure they will. Enough on that subject!!

Saturday afternoon we found out that our neighbor across the street lost his battle with an infection after a hernia repair surgery. He was in the hospital about 3 months. We are VERY sad that we won't be seeing him anymore. He was such a sweet presence in the neighborhood. A kind and gentle man who would do anything in his power to help someone who was willing to help themselves. He and Turkey had a special bond. He thought she was pretty awesome and vice versa. It makes me sad that he won't be walking his dog anymore or commenting on how big ours are getting. We attended his service today and it was absolutely beautiful. I know he was suffering and he is in a better place now. May peace fill his family's hearts.

Through all this it reminded me what an awesome person Turkey is. She keeps reminding me that Lizzy is being spoiled rotten and that Bill is in heaven. They are both happier where they are. Even though she misses them both she can see the best things in both situations. She has been such a comfort and inspiration to me. And to think I was worried about how she was going to take it all. The only time she cried was when we left Lizzy at Petsmart to find a new home. Thats it! She truly amazes me everyday!!
