A New Home for Lizzy

I got up this morning and gave Lizzy a bath. She needed to smell all nice and fresh to go back to Petsmart to try and get a new home. We dropped her off, went and got Hubby's hair cut, came home and got a call about 30 minutes later. The lady with the rescue called to that us know that Lizzy got a new home!! We went back to say our goodbye's and to meet the people who were going to be taking her in. They are wonderful people. We are all SO excited that it all worked out for her. The people who took her in are going to spoil her ROTTEN! They were talking about Lizzy sleeping in their bed and everything already. She is such a sweet dog and super cute too! Very smart and a GREAT guard dog. I am sad to see her go but it will be the best thing for her. I am really going to miss her though. She is really going to make a good dog for them-at least I hope so.

This has definitely been a bitter-sweet experience. I knew going into it that she would only be with us temporally but I was secretly hoping that we would decide to keep her. I get attached WAY too easy so I don't know that we will be ever doing this again. It was a very cool experience though. I am glad that we gave her a chance to live and to find a family that is going to love her and giver her the life she deserves. We couldn't have asked for better people.
