Updates and Other Random Stuff

My friend Hilary asked for an update so here it is! Thanks for the friendly reminder too. I really need to get back into the habit of updating more often.

Nothing too exciting happening in my neck of the woods. Actually I can't think of a single dang thing except that Turkey and I went to some Thrift Stores yesterday and I found a older type crock-pot for $3! Score for me considering all the others locally wanted $10-$15 for the exact thing. And we also found a curtain panel for her room that is perfect! It was $5 but it was brand new still in the package. I normally wouldn't have paid that much for a curtain but it is SO cute, and will match beautifully. I also found 4 or so more cookbooks. Mostly healthier cooking and they were all .50 or less. Another score for me! Turkey got a couple books and I got one about George W. Bush and one of the Baldwin brothers. I really enjoy reading about other peoples lives.

Another bargain I found was at one of the local grocery stores. They had the Glade Wisp flame less candles for $7.99 with an additional $5 off coupon on the package. I only bought one but then I decided a few day later that I really liked them and would like a few more. I went back and browsed how much the refills were $3.49 for one. Needless to say I bought the last 8 they had. I figured they would be nice Christmas gifts or cheap refills.

Soccer season is officially over as of Saturday. The girls played awesome and we won pretty good. I can't remember the exact score 8-2 or something like that. Way to go girls. We have their end of season party at the local pizza buffet this evening so they can get their trophy's. It is kind of sad to see the season end. I really enjoy hanging out with the other parents and getting to see the girls improve so much. It will start again before I know it though so I might as well enjoy the extra time while it lasts.

Our family is trying to eat better/more healthy, so if you have any hints or tips feel free to pass them my way. We decided to do this when we were in Vegas so its still pretty new. I am not trying to go health nut or anything (not yet at least) just trying to get more nutritious stuff in our tummies that tastes good and isn't packed full of fat and calories. It's hard though. Eating out is also pretty minimal, other than tonight of course. We will all try to eat less than we normally would though. Any calories less than normal is good. We also got gym memberships so hopefully we can work that into the routine while soccer is not going on.

Most of our Christmas shopping is done-well Turkey's, no one else has been bought for yet...Hint Hint parents:). Its so nice to have it mostly done and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet!! It makes the holidays a lot more enjoyable. One year probably 3 or so years we had it ALL done by Dec. 1st and it was SO nice to just be able to take in the season without stressing if we are going to be able to find that one thing that we still need.

I got my hair cut last Saturday. As all of you who know me IRL it needed to be cut something terrible. I am still trying to get used to it but I like it. Much more high maintenance than long and blah. No more throwing it back in a pony tail, although it will still fit....barely. It has also brought out the natural curl I never really realized I had. I still haven't really figured out how to deal with that exactly. Hmmmm....its nice to have options though.

Turkey got her hair cut too. Its an end of the soccer season tradition. Hers is pretty cute too. She didn't need it near as much as I did but it was still necessary.

Oh yeah....momma and daddy sugar glider have officially had twins. A boy we named Max and a girl who doesn't have a name yet. They are just too dang cute. I will have to post pics of them. It is really exciting for us since they had twin boys not too long ago but they didn't survive. Momma got pregnant too close after them being born and felt threatened so they disappeared. Very sad but you aren't supposed to separate them because they are a support system for each other. Also, this time we left them alone in the room without anyone going in other than to feed them to hopefully keep them from getting stressed out. That can also cause the babies to disappear.

Well I guess that's about it for now. There was more than I thought. I will post again soon although I am not making any promises.

Cooking in the crock-pot is a great place to start on that healthy eating.

The zookeeper said he enjoyed visiting with you guys last night. I hope the same coach comes back in the spring.

We almost have all our shopping done too. YEAH!!

I was going to say the same thing. It's easier to cook healthy in the crock pot :-) So, since you got a bargain on one, you've already gotten a head start!

I bet your hair is super cute! I'm tempted to chop mine short again. My hair just doesn't have any life in it when it's long and always gets pulled back. At least with short hair, I'd be forced to do something to it.
